Summer in our Hotel at Lake Muta

Adventures around the clock

The best thing about summer in the Venosta Valley? There’s always a fresh breeze that makes the days really pleasant. Perfect for enjoying the sun on the meadows and peaks during the day and watching the twinkling stars wearing your favourite jumper in the evening. We’ve put together a summary of everything else you can experience around our hotel on Lake Muta during the warm season.

High up on the mountain

Hiking is not just about putting one foot in front of the other. It’s also about setting off on a journey of discovery. For example, along family-friendly themed trails or babbling irrigation channels known as Waale. Of course, there are also plenty of summit crosses in the Venosta Valley just waiting for you to take a commemorative photo with them. And in the mountain huts, the hosts will spoil you with South Tyrolean specialities.

Pedalling through the countryside

Whether in the valley or high up in the mountains, the Upper Venosta Valley has plenty to offer all cycling enthusiasts. For leisure cyclists, we recommend the Via Claudia Augusta, which was once used by the Romans. Those who enjoy technical challenges should definitely try the 3-country enduro trails, which offer various levels of difficulty.

Up close & personal with rock faces

Where three-thousand-metre peaks tower into the sky, you will also find a number of via ferrata routes leading through the rocks. Feel the rough stone beneath your hands and enjoy being close to nature. If you prefer to practise your climbing skills indoors, you will find a climbing hall with a bouldering wall in the Martello Valley.

Between the waves

Lake Resia is a well-known destination for water sports enthusiasts. Here, adrenaline junkies can enjoy kitesurfing, being pulled across the water by the wind, while anglers wait patiently for a trout to bite. Lake Muta is regarded as a small fisherman’s paradise. Obtain a fishing licence and a fishing permit, cast your line and enjoy the undisturbed tranquillity.
